I'm in Maryland and I wouldn't even dare to try to grow roses here (extreme heat and incompetence), but I'm fortunate enough to live very close to the National Arboretum in NE Washington DC. It has a spectacular collection of historic rose varieties. If you're in the area I absolutely recommend going there despite the dodgy neighborhood.Janet Mullanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04535985283731981850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-333091580028808174.post-73364072334815236832011-01-29T03:49:46.290-08:002011-01-29T03:49:46.290-08:00Hi Amy,

The deep blood red ones are my favourite. Although there is a lovely apricot coloured rose called Just Joey, it has the most beautiful perfume and stunning blooms.

regards

MargaretMargaret Tannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07123830410502520003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-333091580028808174.post-82581709459805277932011-01-28T13:17:05.629-08:002011-01-28T13:17:05.629-08:00Wonderful article and so timely.
